First Episode of Transformers Generation 1
Episode 1 of Transformers Generation 1 (G1) is More Than Meets the Eye - Part 1. This first episode is part of a three part series.
Generation 1 is the first generation of The Transformers. The term 'Generation 1' includes all tv shows, comic books, and toys in this generation. 'Generation 1' is also a retroactive term, as it was only applied after the advent of Generation 2. This was done to distinguish the two series.
Generation 1 actually comprises two generations of Transformers : Before Movie and After Movie. The original series was assumed to have taken place at the same time it aired, however, Transformers:The Movie introduced radical changes into the series.
First, it placed the series into the future. Secondly, main characters of the pre-movie era were unceremoniously killed off, most of them in the first 15 minutes of the movie. Lastly, a number of more modern, futuristic characters were introduced.
In the pre-movie era, the plots of episodes centered around the struggle between Autobots and Decepticons. The Decepticons attempted to steal the Earth's energy. The Autobots attempted to stop them. Occasionally both sides made trips to Cybertron, however most of the stories take place on Earth.
In the after-movie era, more races of Transformers are introduced and the stories take place not only on Earth and Cybertron, but across the universe.
Generation 1 Laws
The physical laws of the Generation 1 Universe are not the same as the ordinary universe. This is expected of a cartoon series. Here are some of the differences :
- If you spray liquid nitrogen on a metal wall, IT EXPLODES!
- If person A detects person B using some kind of sensor, there's a 90% chance that person B will immediately know that he has been detected.
