Ratchet was an Autobot Transformer. Ratchet transforms into a Nissan C-20 Vanette ambulance and acted as the Autobot's medic. He first appeared in the episode More Than Meets The Eye- Part 1. He worked with Wheeljack to create the Dinobots.
Ratchet was killed in Transformers: The Movie during the time when he was on the space shuttle to Autobot City with Autobots Ironhide, Brawn, and Prowl (also killed). Luckily Ratchet was replaced by the Junkion leader Wreckgar and Protectobot First Aid.
Ratchet is sometimes considered the "brother" or "twin" of Ironhide.
Ratchet's abilities:
Ratchet has the ability to retract his hand and produce a blowtorch from his arm. This blowtorch is used in Ratchet's medical capacities. He also uses an assortment of many other medical equipment.
Episode History
More Than Meets The Eye - Part 1
Ratchet was among the Autobots selected by Optimus Prime as a member of the search for energy. As such, Ratchet crashed with the Ark and was reactivated 4 million years later.
