Generation 2
Transformers: Generation 2 continues the story where Generation 1 left off. However, it's account of the events of Generation 1 is a mix of both the comic book and tv show storylines. Generation 2 had no cartoon. Instead, Generation 2 was a comic book only, spanning only one year.
The G2 storyline officially begins before the G2 comic book was released. It begins in a "prequel crossover" with the G.I. Joe comic book spanning Issues 138 to 142. From that point, the Transformers G2 makes the jump to it's own comic.
Transformers: Generation 2 was the first gut-level and serious Transformers storyline. Characters were killed quickly, unapologetically and often. Two examples : Mirage and Red Alert.
